Provide educational instruction through a variety of accepted teaching techniques while employing behavior management strategies that will ensure the effective and efficient implementation of assigned individual students’ IEPs on an as needed basis to complement the needs of the full time teaching staff.
Teach students with emotional and behavior disorders within a school setting for grades K-12, operated in conjunction with a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents. Responsibilities include creating a positive and supportive classroom climate, engaging in a variety of instructional techniques and behavior management strategies that insure effective implementation of student IEP's, administering lesson plans, providing instruction on assigned subject areas, and providing crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
Must meet Minnesota criteria as a Substitute Teacher. Previous applicable classroom teaching experience preferred. Must possess a valid driver license and acceptable driving record, must be 21 years of age or older, and must pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical and driver's record check.
