The Woodbourne Center, a Nexus Family Member, supports and cares for children and their families who have become involved in the child welfare system, the juvenile justice system, and mental health programs, and gives children new coping skills, a foundation in education, and a positive self-outlook. Family-centered, trauma-informed, psychiatric residential programing addresses harmful sexual behaviors and emotional and behavioral issues. Treatment Foster Care is also offered.
The Woodbourne Center has an exciting opportunity available for a full-time Therapist based in the Baltimore, MD metro area. Provide assessment and treatment services to individuals, families and groups, as well as facilitate partnership strategies with the community. Provide family and individual therapy services to residents and their families. Participate in client discharge. Communicate with legal systems, schools and social service agencies and provide court testimony when necessary. Ensure compliance with governing agency and Nexus reporting requirements. Educate staff about family treatment integration theory and technique and its application to residents. Participate in staff meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions and in-service as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities. Ensure confidentiality regarding medical issues, background and treatment. Demonstrate the ability to handle emergency or crisis situations and use sound judgment by taking appropriate actions. Remain calm and effectively manage stressful workload conditions and difficult, emotionally charged or crisis situations.
Masters degree in social work, psychology or clinically related field required. Current Maryland Licensure: LGPC, LGSW, LCPC, or LCSW required. Must be able to maintain Safe Crisis Management and CPR/First Aid certification. Valid driver's license. Must meet state regulating agency driving requirements and pass corporate insurance eligibility standards.
