    Are you looking for flexibility in your work schedule?  Are you interested in getting additional training without the commitment of a regular part-time or full-time schedule?  Do you want to make a difference helping teenage girls strive to make healthy changes in their lives?    Then we have a fantastic opportunity for you!

    Nexus Glen Lake, a small intensive residential treatment program located in Minnetonka, is looking for Youth Care Professionals to fill in on open shifts when regularly scheduled staff are out.   (Note:  What you might call a Float Residential Counselor, Youth Counselor, Mental Health Specialist, Mental Health Assistant, or Behavioral Technician, we call on-call Youth Care Professionals, or YCPs.)

    We have day, evening, or overnight shifts on every day of the week.  We let you know when open shifts come up and you let us know your availability.  You can pick up more shifts or fewer shifts, so it’s easy to flex your work hours to accommodate other jobs, activities, and interests.  The only requirement is that you work an average of at least 24 hours each month.

    • Competitive pay (starting at $14/hr with additional compensation awarded based upon education and experience!).
    • You control your schedule. Work the shifts you want; pass on the shifts you don’t.
    • Participate in additional training opportunities. You’ll gain both experience and knowledge!
    • Earn money making a powerful impact on the lives of the young women in the program.

    As a Youth Care Professional (YCP), you will play a key role in the growth and success of our youth.  Select responsibilities include:

    • Supporting and reinforcing the therapeutic plan of clients by providing guidance and direction to youth in daily living activities;

    • Participating with coworkers as a team on implementing treatment plans and therapeutic services;
    • Ensuring client safety and collaborating with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic;
    • Planning and participating in off-campus client activities and assisting in the transportation of clients for home visits, doctor appointment, planned recreational activities, etc.; and
    • Working effectively with clients’ families/support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships.

    • High School Diploma or GED required, relevant experience preferred.
    • Minimum of 21 years of age.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, and stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours).
