  • Overview

    Assist in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of computer networks and associated equipment.



    Assist in the computer systems administration.


    -Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computing hardware, software and peripherals to include the imaging of computer resources utilizing the Nexus imaging tools.


    -Assist the IT Supervisor and the Nexus Enterprise Systems team in troubleshooting, as necessary, service outages, degradation of services, or disruptions.


    -As directed, assist in maintaining and troubleshooting the technology services to include active directory, printing, data/file management, and other applicable services.


    -Implement as directed standardization initiatives to ensure compliance with the Nexus’ Technology strategic direction.


    -Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Nexus security plan.    




    Provide End-User Support and Training.


    -Respond to end-user requests, incidents, questions and other technology support requirements.


    -Provide end-user training as necessary to ensure end-users are aware of the Nexus technology services and capabilities and the appropriate use of the services.


    -Provide classroom support, training, and implementation of instructional technology.


    -Participate in the instruction of students with specific identified projects to enhance learning opportunities.


    -Follow the Nexus Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) practice utilizing the ITSM ticketing tool and documentation standards.




    Provide network support.


    -Assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user training and support of the organization’s teleconferencing systems.    


    -Assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user training and support of the organization’s telephony equipment to include cellular devices.


    -Assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user training and support of the organization’s network systems to include LAN, WAN, and WLAN.


    -As directed, install, maintain and troubleshoot network associated hardware and software to include, firewalls, routers, switches, servers, wireless access points, etc.


    -Assist in the administration, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s security camera system.




    Assist with administrative, logistic, and documentation support.


    -Maintain documentation regarding allocation, lifecycle, and repair status of all IT assets.


    -Maintain computer parts inventory and follow procurement procedures to restock as necessary.


    -Participate in Nexus IT meetings and collaborate with the Nexus IT team to innovate and advance the capabilities of the organization.




    Ensure confidentiality of residents’ medical background and treatment issues.




    Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.




    Other duties as assigned.


    Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes


    -Remain current on all required training and certifications.

    -Easily adjust and be highly flexible in meeting changing work needs and demands and willingly provide direction and/or assistance when needed.

    -Exhibit a spirit of cooperation among coworkers and comply with corporate and site policies and procedures.

    -Possess a working knowledge of computer hardware and software sufficient to install, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user computing.

    -Must be versed in maintaining Microsoft operating systems for servers and desktops, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.

    -Possesses thorough knowledge of Local Area Networking, Wide Area Network, and Wireless Local Area Network to enable effective maintenance of the electronic communication systems.

    -Possesses strong mechanical background including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical operational issues.

    -Exhibits solid interpersonal and communication skills enabling the effective training of staff and clients in the use of computer systems and software as well as providing on-going support.

    -Demonstrates the ability to effectively prioritize multiple activities in a manner that makes the best use of existing resources.

    -Displays ethical conduct and professionalism at all times, with particular emphasis on protecting resident confidentiality and representing the organization in a professional and ethical manner.

    -Adhere to department procedures regarding punctuality and attendance and exhibit a significant degree of flexibility and cooperation with shift scheduling and rotation needs.

    Education, Credentials and Experience


    -2 year Computer Science degree. In lieu of degree, may accept a combination of work related experience and education.

    -Valid driver’s license. Must meet state driving criteria and pass corporate insurance eligibility standards in order to operate company vehicles.


    Physical Demands


    -Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

    -Bending, twisting, stooping, climbing ladders, etc. conducive to installing and maintaining computer and telecommunications equipment/wiring.
