If you’re looking for a place to use your Payroll and HR know-how to help make a positive impact on youth and their families, look no further.  We’re looking for a Payroll/HR Specialist to join our Corporate Nexus team! 


    As the Payroll/HR Specialist, you will compile data and process bi-weekly payroll, generate reports, and assist with payroll problem resolution for assigned sites. Provide support with reporting requirements and HRIS maintenance. Select responsibilities include:

    • Perform payroll processes and procedures for assigned sites under the direction of the payroll coordinator.
      • Compile data to process bi-weekly payroll. Interact with corporate and site personnel to ensure timely remittance of data.
      • Verify new hire dates and termination stop dates to timesheets.
      • Prepare processed payroll to be sent to assigned operating sites and prepare site specific payroll reports and distribute to pertinent personnel after approval by the payroll coordinator.
      • Assist the payroll coordinator in payroll problem resolutions.
      • Update documentation of payroll processes and procedures as needed.
    • Assist with the monitoring and administration of ACA requirements.
    • Monitor and respond to team email inbox in a timely manner, and ensure information is shared with team members as appropriate.
    • Run reports and complete state and federal compliance reports, such as EEO-1 and VETS-4212, annually for management review and filing; supports the review and audit of applicant and current employee data.
    • Support the maintenance of HRIS records and compile reports from the data base as needed.
    • Provide assistance with benefit administration on an as needed basis. (Ex. Open Enrollment, workers compensation, leaves of absence, wellness program, etc.)
    • Provide backup reception support and assist with general office support for the corporate office.
    • Ensure confidentiality of all staff, client, and Nexus’ financial information.
    • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus treatment philosophy and modalities.
    • Other duties as apparent or assigned.


    • Associate’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years related work experience required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. In lieu of education, may substitute at least 4years of payroll experience.
    • Experience with payroll processing systems required, experience with ADP preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, required.
