The Systems Administrator will assist in the provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of Nexus Enterprise systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure.  This position will work closely with and collaborate with the site Enterprise Systems Administrator, IT Staff, and the Helpdesk to ensure the systems and services are reliable, available, and secure.


  • Administer Server, Storage, Network, Telephony, and related Infrastructure, and End-user equipment.
    • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain server hardware, software, and technology services. 
    • Assist in assessing infrastructure and end-user needs and propose the purchasing of hardware, software, or services. 
    • Implement and manage servers to support the Enterprise service to include: file/print, email, storage, directory services, data backup, desktop deployment, telephony, data base, etc. 
    • Install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot firewalls, switches and routers as necessary.
    • Manage backup of critical systems in conjunction with corporate disaster recovery effort.
    • Maintain security services to include content filtering, anti-virus/spam/spyware.
    • Implement and assist in the management of the Enterprise Active Directory to include group policies, ACLs and security.
    • Ensure adherence with all applicable IS policies.
  • Provide helpdesk and end-user deployment support.
    • Install, configure, upgrade and maintain end-user images for consistent delivery of end-user software including operating system, productivity equipment, and security.
    • Provide Tier II end user support and backup and assist the Helpdesk when necessary.
    • Communicate and collaborate with the broad IT team about best practices and proposed changes.
    • Maintain documentation and procedures for consistent delivery of services.
    • Manage the centralized deployment of end user devices and software.
    • Provide day to day end user support for corporate office and Minnesota-based operations.
  • Perform administrative tasks.
    • Maintain documentation of Enterprise, Plymouth, Glen Lake, and Kindred systems, services, and related technology. 
    • Maintain computer, network, and related systems documentation.
    • Coordinate with third-party vendors and site IT Staff.
    • Participate in planning with leadership to provide excellent end-user support.
  • Provide computer education and training to staff as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus. Understand and support the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
  • Ensure confidentiality of client and staff information.


Education, Credentials and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in computer science; 2 year Computer Science degree required. In lieu of degree, may accept a combination of work related experience and education.
  • Valid driver’s license. Must meet state driving criteria and pass corporate insurance eligibility standards in order to operate company vehicles.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Possess advanced knowledge of Local Area Networking and Wide Area Networking to configure, install, and maintain network infrastructure in a large complex environment. 
  • Possess advanced knowledge of server administration in a large complex environment to include Windows, HyperV, Azure AD, Intune, O365, PDQ, Eset, Mimecast, etc. 
  • Must be able to perform computer and hardware troubleshooting with strong analytical skills.
  • Must be well versed in maintaining a Microsoft-based platform including Windows Server, Windows, Office Suite, Active Directory, Group Policy management, and related networking topics.
